Well, we reached the moment we had all been waiting for and Monday 30th October 2017 marked the official Grand Opening of Wetherby-Pembridge. The day began with the arrival of our visitors from London and we were pleased to welcome Mark Hanley-Browne, CEO of the Alpha Plus Group and Graham Able the Deputy Chairman as well as all other Directors from Head Office. The building was abuzz with tours and lesson visits and the children were excellent hosts and company throughout. The day exemplified the trademark camaraderie and positivity so rife in our school and organisation and the atmosphere was one to remember. Your children were delightful company as ever!

Then to the evening and the first Advisory Board Meeting and celebratory main event. The School welcomed 140 guests and we were joined by Sir John Ritblat, Chairman of the Alpha Plus Group and our Guest of Honour, His Excellency Ambassador Matthew Rycroft, Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the United Nations in New York. The evening encapsulated all that our school stands for and it was the opportunity to pass on our gratitude to you, our founding families and teaching team for the tremendous leap of faith you have taken. The unveiling of the beautiful glass Founders’ Board in the Hall will stand as a permanent reminder of your commitment and trust. Many of you have asked for the video that was shown that evening – I am glad that you enjoyed it and we will happily share this with you. I would agree, Juliana Thomas the videographer, has created a very touching and dynamic first snapshot into life at Wetherby-Pembridge. One of our community passed the ultimate compliment saying that the video gave the impression that the school had been running for years. In reality, the footage was taken in only the first two weeks of our journey. The School has a strong and inspiring future ahead and it is thanks to you all for making our new beginnings so meaningful – onwards!
