With the weather as wintry and unfriendly as it has been this last week, it is good to turn our attention to warmer thoughts! The Spring Term has started off well and it has been good to welcome back your children. I have enjoyed animated stories at lunchtimes and seeing much proof that our school community is settled and happy. Thank you for adopting the morning boot and indoor shoe routine as it helps to keep everyone warm and dry. Points go to Ife Haynes in the Nursery for the warmest dressed coming to school each day! Incidentally, I have just heard that WPNY collected 21 coats for the Holiday Coat Drive in December. Well done and thank you to all who contributed!
Mrs Charteris will be in touch shortly about our Spring International Food Festival on March 22nd and we are looking forward to welcoming our friends from Wetherby Senior in London on February 15th for drama and art workshops with Pre- K and Kindergarten. All children will be involved in giving them a hearty welcome and I’m so pleased that the links between our schools are so strong across the Atlantic. Watch this space for news and photographs! Cookery Club has started in earnest and our starter servings of pineapple and kale smoothies seemed to go down well and I have been delighted to see our first chess players mastering their moves in the Founders’ Hall each week.
As ever, there are always new social and educational plans taking place behind the scenes. The element of surprise has to feature in any school calendar of events! Keep your ears to the ground and we will be back shortly.
For me, it is just excellent to have your children back in the building, unphased by the winter advances- their smiles and enthusiasm for learning are what we are all about. See you soon!
