The School has been filled with much activity and excitement and
the day before our Thanksgiving Family Assembly last week we
were greeted with a large fall of snow and the customary City
stand-still in New York! It did give Miss Wood time to capture this
rather lovely photograph in Central Park, which is certainly a taste
of the season to come. I know that many of you had rather
intrepid and cold journeys home with your children that night!
It has been good to see the Lower School children making videos
of Thanksgiving to share with our London schools and the holiday
cards they are sending to Chepstow House were really thoughtful
and fun. I thoroughly enjoyed the video of the story of Guy
Fawkes and Bonfire Night that the Falcons School for Girls sent
us recently – I hope this can be the start of a firm friendship and
partnership going forward. This shared approach to learning
makes such an impact on your children,
I’m delighted to spotlight some parent champions this week – well
done to our NY Marathon runners from 4th November – as I have
mentioned, I do hope you will come and collect your housepoints
soon! I was also very proud to take a few young invitees to the
United Nations on 12th November for a night to remember. I was
delighted at how this young group handled such a grown up and
official event in the ECOSOC Chambers – they were excellent
company and the perfect ambassadors for the School.
All that remains, in amidst so much activity, achievement and
happiness is to wish you all a relaxing and memorable
Thanksgiving. We enjoyed a delicious first Thanksgiving meal
together at School on Tuesday, thanks to Chef Nancy. It will
certainly be the first of many over the next few days.
Enjoy the photographs of the whole school trip to Green Meadows
Farm – that was quite a day and one that was thoroughly enjoyed
by all.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
