End of Term Farewells

This has been a highly positive and inspiring end to the Spring Term. I stand back with absolute pride and we should all celebrate the very real achievements and successes this term has manifested. The children are learning and growing and are thoroughly happy young individuals and I’m delighted that the last few months have been so rich and diverse in terms of learning opportunities. The Food Festival on Friday 8th March was our whole school community at our very best.

This final issue of The Wetherbridge is a visual record of our last week and includes coverage of the Grade 1 Trip to the American Museum of Natural History, the 2nd Annual International Food Festival, the Brooklyn Irish Dancing demonstration and a short article on the inspiring Financial Literacy for Kids Workshop which took place on Tuesday. This morning, there was rapturous end of term applause in our school assembly and well done to all the Spring Term House Winners.

Mrs Charteris has sent out the After School Club Letters for the Summer Term. Each term we add new offerings and we are pleased to welcome the New York Theatre Ballet Company on Mondays. I hope that many of your children will sign up to this. Mrs del Balzo will run a Drama and Storytelling Club for Pre-K and Kindergarten and Miss Wood will raise the roof with her Thursday Singing Club, which I feel sure will prove extremely popular. Chess, Fencing, Language and Sports Clubs continue as
normal. Our musical offerings have expanded to include Guitar and the Trumpet and we will shortly welcome Ed and Phil to introduce the bass guitar and the drums to the older children. The WPNY Rock Band is coming together slowly and should any parents be interested in getting involved in this, do come forward….

All that remains to be said is to wish you all a happy and relaxing Spring Break. I am flying off to Dublin on St Patrick’s Day for some quality time with my Irish Family and I hope that you all get the chance to relax and enjoy the time together.
