Displays at WPNY

There is much to be said for modesty and valuing a more subtle approach at times. However, after 23 years in education so much has to be said for unashamedly celebrating your children’s talent, hard work and daily successes. The premise of this school newsletter is founded on that very idea.

On my arrival back from London this week, it struck me how good our school displays are looking and I’m delighted to showcase a gallery of them below for those of you who have not toured all the classrooms in the school. I am sure you agree they are vibrant and impressive. They record and recognise creative artwork, super examples of written work in Grade 1, mathematical topics and work in Kindergarten and Grade 1 and many other areas across the school. Mrs Wordsmith (our vocabulary building scheme of work) has been a welcome addition to our school curriculum and the fun displays around the school capture the spirit of this inspiring programme.

I am sure that once Trenton and Eric arrive, their creative ideas and contributions will add even more creativity and vibrancy to the school walls!

Healthy balance at WPNY…

The School Council initiative for the Dining Room has been a triumph this year. The children on the Council designed their lunch rules and reward system themselves. ‘Star of The Day’ has become most sought-after at meal times and a welcome addition to the school day. As ever, we seek balance in all we do and the children are encouraged to eat healthily and our Friday Golden Time aims to reward good work and contribution over every week. Work well, eat well, play well…
