Mary began her career in finance. She has worked in both private wealth management and commercial paper at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc., Ladenburg Thalmann and Drexel Burnham Lambert. After raising her family, she became Head of Development at Bridg-It, an anti-defamation solutions platform that partners with schools, communities and organizations globally to fight bullying and cultivate safe environments. Mary is married to Michael Darling, a Bermudan-born financier at Morgan Stanley, who was educated in the British public school system. Together they have two children, both of whom attended private day school in New York City.
Their daughter, Annabel, received her A Levels at the British school, Uppingham, and currently attends university in the United States. Their son, James, is a student at The Taft School. Mary and Michael divide their time between New York City and Bermuda and travel frequently to the UK. Mary serves on the board of the Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering and is an active volunteer on its Adult Patient Experience Committee. She was previously a working volunteer with the American Red Cross. Mary earned a Bachelor of Science from the Silver School of Social Work at New York University. She is a passionate and skilled networker, who enjoys connecting people. Her interests include competitive road racing, marathons and theatre.
